Richard was admitted as a solicitor in 1972 and has since been practicing in Canterbury, specialising throughout his career in private client work and more latterly concentrating on Wills, Probate, Tax and Trust Work together with commercial and domestic property conveyancing.

Richard was one of the founding partners in Beadle Pitt & Gottschalk which firm merged with Judge Sykes Frixou in October 2019.

Richard is actively involved in the local community and is a current trustee and director of a local charity for the severely disabled. Richard is also a committee member of a local church preservation trust as well as being a member of other church trusts and organisations.

Richard’s hobbies include the study of church history, architecture and fabric.
